The CG series is a gas fired heavy duty Counter Griddle This series is available in a 600 and a 900 model. The CG series is a versatile performer to have in any kitchen requiring a variety of different types of grilled food. The units are standard bench or counter models with a further option for the units to be mounted on a stainless steel stand with a midshelf. The burners are a heavy duty cast iron and provide an even eat across the whole of the mild steel griddle plate.

The following procedure must be carried out on this appliance:

GRILL MAINTENANCE

Grill Control Valve Removal

  1. Shut off and disconnect the appliance from the gas supply
  2. Disconnect the manifold inlet line
  3. Disconnect the thermocouple
  4. Remove the valve from the manifold
  5. To replace the valve–reverse the order of the above steps.

Pilot Burner Removal

  1. Shut the gas off to the appliance
  2. Remove the two screws to release the pilot assembly from pilot bracket
  3. Remove attachments– (a) Thermocouple, (b) Gas Supply Tube
  4. Remove the Thermocouple and Gas Supply Tube from the gas valve
  5. To install pilot burner – reverse the order of the above

Pilot Injector (Spud) Removal

  1. Shut the gas off to the appliance
  2. Disconnect gas supply tube from the pilot
  3. Remove the injector (spud) from the pilot
  4. Clean/Replace injector (spud)– use the reverse order of the above

Thermocouple Removal

  1. Shut the gas off to the appliance
  2. Remove the control knobs
  3. Remove the control panel
  4. Disconnect the thermocouple from the gas valve
  5. Disconnect the thermocouple from the pilot
  6. Replace the thermocouple – use the reverse order of the above
  7. Caution: Do Not Over Tighten Small Gland Nut into back of Valve

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

GENERAL

To ensure that the unit operates efficiently and has a long operational lifetime, it must be properly maintained and cleaned regularly. The appliance must be kept clean during the working day and must be thoroughly cleaned at the end of each day.

STAINLESS STEEL

The only cleaning generally required on stainless steel surfaces is to wipe the surface with a cloth and mild dish – washing liquid as follows:

  1. Gently sponge the area to be cleaned, with a cloth and cleaning solution.
  2. Wipe the surface dry with an absorbent dry cloth.
  3. Persistent stains may require vigorous rubbing with a sourer or with a creamed powder cleanser.
  4. Allow the appliance to cool down to ambient temperature by natural means.
  5. To avoid damaging the unit :
  • Do not spray water or any liquids onto the appliance or cooking grates.
  • Do not apply water or any liquidsto cool down the appliance.
  • Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or compound powder cleaners, steel wool or wax polishers anywhere on this appliance.
  • DOING SO IS LIKELY TO CAUSE PERMENANT DAMAGE TO THE APPLIANCE COMPONENTS. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE SPECIFIED REQUIREMENTS WILL VOID THE APPLIANCE WARRANTY.

PERIODIC (every 3 to 6 months depending on the workload)

The appliance must be checked periodically by qualified and authorised service personnel as part of a regular kitchen maintenance program.

CONTROL PANEL

Wipe with a cloth dipped in warm cleaning solution as detailed above. The knobs of the burner controls can be removed by pulling them out.

WARNING

Aerosol sprays such as stove cleaners, insect sprays, etc. must NOT be used in the vicinity of this appliance whilst it is in operation, as they can cause corrosion of the metal surfaces.
